The Cardinal S. Wyszynski University in Warsaw has created an Interdisciplinary Research Network for Migration and our first conference, organized on this occasion, is entitled: MIGRATION TO THE EUROPEAN UNION. POLITICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIO-CULTURAL CHALLENGES. It will take place on Tuesday, 11th June 2019 (Warsaw, ul. Wóycickiego 1/3, building.23, room 201),  to which you are cordially invited.

The aim of the Conference will be to reflect together on these challenges. The conference will consist of two plenary sessions, conducted in the form of a "round table" including, if possible, all participants, followed by parallel sessions (Call for Papers). The first plenary session will be devoted to the issue of multiculturalism in Europe, including attitudes towards immigrants and refugees from Muslim countries in the context of the migration crisis in Europe. The second plenary session will deal with the issue of humanitarian forced migration, including the work of aid, secular and religious organizations, for the benefit of immigrants and refugees.

Parallel Sessions in the framework of the open Call for Papers will be devoted to the current political, legal, social and cultural challenges of contemporary migration in Europe. More information below.

The number of places is limited! Call for Papers applications should be sent by 28.05.2019, and applications "without a paper" by 07.06.2019. You will be informed about the acceptance of your applications by the Scientific Council of the conference by 02.06.2019. The conference fee for participation with a paper should be paid by 05.06.2019. Participation without a paper is free of charge.

The conference inaugurates the activity of the Interdisciplinary Research Network on Migration (ISBnM), established in February 2019 at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (CSWU).

The goal of the Network is to create a cooperation platform for universities and other institutions dealing with migration issues, with a special focus on the humanitarian aspect. The network is intended both to share knowledge and jointly conduct research and analysis in the light of political, legal and socio-cultural challenges. 

The Interdisciplinary Research Network on Migrationis open not only to domestic and foreign academic centers, but also to institutions, associations and foundations dealing actively with immigrants and refugees. This provides an opportunity to enrich the theoretical dimension of migration studies with knowledge and experience of persons implementing migration policy and integrative in practice. It is also important to cooperate with foreign entities, which have much more experience in this area than Poland.

We hope that our international scientific conference, entitled Migrations to the European Union planned for 11 June 2019, will be an important element in building the Network. Political, legal and socio-cultural challenges, to which we invite all interested researchers from national and foreign universities, representatives of state and local government institutions as well as international organizations and non-governmental organizations.

The conference is organized by the Interdisciplinary Research Network for Migration in cooperation with the Institute of Political Studies of  the CSWU, the  Chairof Administration Law and Local Government of the Department of Law and Administration of  CSWU,   the International Center for Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue of the CSWU, Jean Monnet Module EUMIGRO, the Chair of Political Studies at the Warsaw School of Economics, the Collegium Interethnicum Foundation and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Poland. Conference partners are the Christian Theological Academy and the Polish Association for European Community Research (PECSA).

During the conference there will be two plenary sessions followed by thematic sessions within the framework of the open Call for Papers. The languages ​​of the conference will be Polish and English.
